1. Two languages are better than one.
The United States, having long been the melting pot of the world has been neglecting our need to be a land of many languages.
America should make an honest push for bilingualism across the entire country and drop the ridiculous argument that people who come to America need to learn English. I came to Korea without learning Korean (right away) and it is high time we met foreigners halfway. The world is already learning English. Having a selection of languages to learn in school and having an earnest push to attain proficiency in multiple languages will lead to America being mobilized for the 21st Century.
Without meeting foreign companies, schools and even artists half-way; the United States puts itself at risk of falling further and further away from relevance.
On a side note, any president of our country should have proficency, if not fluency, in at least one other language. Just a thought. Heres to a brighter future. Read, share and enjoy:
